Stephanie Singer is an award winning composer, song-writer, creative director and artist.

Her work is disarmingly intimate. Binding original classical, pop, experiential live music together she draws audiences into varied worlds of unbridled joy to celebrate the insanity of the human experience together.

Channelling her insatiable energy into multi-media, Stephanie's catalogue ties threads of her own experiences together to explore the question: what does it mean to be human? Future facing, quizzical and challenging - she’s here to play.

She tackles humanly-challenging themes inlduing isolation, ecoide, loneliness and sexual violence through the lens of JOY.

She is an experienced composer for theatre, musicals, animation, film and multimedia. Previous clientscollaborators include Royal Opera House, Finnish Opera House, Southbank, The Tank NYC, BMI, Southbank Centre, BitterSuite, New York City Ballet, The Place, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Flavour & Some, BETA Stage Festival (Bern), The Place, Sixty-Four music, Concrete Timbre - New York City and more.

Immersive

In her role as the founding creative director of groundbreaking performance company BITTERSUITE EXPERIENCES CIO Stephanie has led the company across the last 10 years. Directing & composing their recent production BODIES TILTED 2023 @ the Southbank Centre across a 25 sell-out performances as part of Christine & The Queen’s Meltdown at Southbank Centre.

VIOLET - Stephanie’s new rave opera will be produced in collaboration with BitterSuite. Violet featured on the Finnish Opera House through-out their Winter 2022 season, originally commissioned by the Royal Opera House.

Theatre

Stephanie composed & co-write "SIMON AND HIS SHOES - The Musical," a NYTimes Pick, described as a "witty and slightly macabre musical comedy" by the New York Times. Stehpanie is also a BMI musical theatre workshop alum. She was awarded British Council musician in residence in Russia in 2020. Collaborating with producer Slow Shudder, she crafted the pop-electronica experience "New Symmetry," which premiered at Different Ever After in Moscow. The project earned accolades, including 'Best Music Video' at the Rome Prisma Awards and 'Best Experimental Film' at the Red Movie Awards and London International Monthly Film Festival. Additionally, Stephanie has composed scores for various theatre and dance productions, including those for New York City Ballet, Eileih Muir, Flavour & Some, Xan Dye, and Vanessa Cook.

Speaker

Stephanie, a seasoned speaker and panelist, discusses the future of performance art and inspires audiences to delve into creativity, joy, music, and social justice. Recently, she addressed the House of Lords on creative justice, policing, and sexual violence. She's appeared on BBC, Newsnight, Radio 4, Sky News, TedX, and other platforms. She is an associate lecturer on the MA:UK course at LCC and has guest lectured Royal College of Art, Brown University, Bristol Uni, RCA and more.
